
Winnipeg police have charged a suspect after a man was seriously assaulted near Portage Place mall on Friday morning.
Police say at approximately 10:30 a.m., Cadet units were patrolling near Portage Avenue and Carlton Street, when they were flagged down for a disturbance.
The Cadets found a severely injured male and began to provide emergency first aid.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition where he remains at this time.
Responding officers located a nearby suspect and took him into custody.
Aaron David Woodhouse, 23, of Winnipeg, has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and fail to comply with condition of release order (x2).

The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
