Winnipeg police have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man in the city’s West End last year.

On April 24, 2020, at approximately 12:45 p.m., police responded to the 700 block of Victor Street after an injured man had been found inside a residence.

Officers located the man who was transported to hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced deceased.

Police identified the victim as Noah Soloman Nigussie.

Members of the Homicide Unit continued with the investigation.

On February 5, investigators placed a male suspect under arrest.

It is believed that the victim and suspect were known to each other and had been involved in a dispute at the residence, which led to the victim being shot.

Royce Anthony James Boyle, 24-years-old, has been charged with second-degree murder.

He was detained in custody.
