Winnipeg police arrest man wanted for murder on Pritchard Ave

The Winnipeg Police Service has arrested Bradley Shawn Thomas, 24, for second degree murder and firearms charges.

The homicide unit obtained a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of Thomas after Kyle Allan Malanchhuck, 26, was shot in the upper body during a house party at 800 block of Pritchard Avenue on August 22.

Malanchhuck was transported to hospital in critical condition and died soon after.

According to a media release, Thomas was taken into custody in the area of Salter Street and Alfred Avenue, on Friday.

Thomas is charged with:

  • Second-degree murder
  • Discharging a restricted firearm or a prohibited firearm with intent
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order
